Dr Raymond Fenech

Dr Raymond Fenech embarked on his writing career as a freelance journalist at 17, working for leading newspapers, In-Nazzjon, Il-Mument, The Democrat, The Times and Sunday Times of Malta. In more recent years, he edited two local nation-wide distributed magazines and also founded and managed one of the largest in-house advertising agencies. Nominated twice for the prestigious Literary Pushcart Prize in the USA by two different publishers, the writer was recently awarded two publication contracts for his books, The Incident of the Mysterious Priest and Other Stories and a new poetry collection, Growing with the Shadows, both books launched at the international book fair, Expo America in New York in June 2018. Both books were published by Adelaide Literary Publishers, 5th Avenue, New York, listed as one of the top one hundred literary magazines in the USA. Ray is a creative writing tutor and has also been awarded an open scholarship in writing therapy by the Creative Righting Center, Touro College, Hofstra University, New York in 2008. He has published research on Maltese ghosts in the International Directory of the Most Haunted Places by Penguin Books, USA. He has a bachelor of arts and a doctorate in creative writing and is also a qualified journalist and copywriter. He has undertaken several courses in paranormal studies and parapsychology with Flamel College, USA where he was mentored by Dennis William Hauck, an advisor for the Hollywood film production, White Noise, Edinburgh University, Scotland and The UK College of Holistic Studies. Ray spent several years making onsite paranormal investigations for his own foundation, The Paranormal Investigation & Research Foundation, Malta until he was forced to retire for health reasons. Dr Fenech was also the editor of two nation-wide distributed magazines, The Globe Trotter and Living 2000. Last year the author was appointed editor of the annual members’ anthology published by the Canada Cuba Literary Alliance (CCLA). The anthology was entitled, The Dream the Glory and the Strife. He was later also appointed Ambassador of the CCLA to Malta.
