Is a Long Distance Relationship Right For You? Find Out Here

Relationships are tough at the best of times, but throw being miles apart from each other into the mix and a whole new set of challenges can arise.

Whether your relationship started as a holiday romance or your partner works away; there are many ways for a long distance relationship to begin. The main issue with long distance relationships is making them stand the test of time.

If you are about to embark on a long distance relationship or think that you would like to seek one out, here are some pointers to help you decide if it is the right choice for you:

What do You Want?

Take time to be honest with yourself about what you want from a relationship. Are you looking for something casual like you would find on w4m, or do you want a more serious relationship?

Thinking about what you want before you enter a relationship will help you to be able to think clearly about whether it is the right choice for you. By spending time thinking about which aspects of a relationship are important to you, and which ones aren’t so much of a priority then you will have the insight to keep your judgement clear and lessen the chances of anyone getting hurt.

The Positives of a Long Distance Relationship

While long distance relationships can immediately evoke negative connotations of waiting around for the phone to ring and crying into your pillow each night, it doesn’t have to be this way. Some people prefer the freedom that comes from a long distance relationship.

If you are someone that enjoys your own company and space, and often feels crowded if they spend too much time with the same person, you may find that a long distance relationship is a perfect way for you to be in a relationship, but without the need to spend time together every day.

Another benefit of a long distance relationship is that when you do spend time together, you can make that time special. Sometimes quality is better than quantity, so if when you do see each other, you make that time count, then you may find that the breaks in between aren’t so important.

The Negatives of a Long Distance Relationship

If you are someone that is prone to jealousy, or your partner is, then spending lots of time apart can be incredibly detrimental to your relationship. When jealousy is an issue, you may find that arguments and resentment mar the times you do spend together.

A long distance relationship can mean added pressures too; you may build up the anticipation of seeing each other to such massive proportions that it can feel a little too forced when you do eventually meet up.

All relationships have their positive and negative aspects, but the critical thing to bear in mind is how you feel that you and your partner will cope with the added distance between you, and not seeing each other as frequently as you would usually.
